My Bike Accident

Nine and half years of biking and not a single accident, well that's a record - atleast for me, until two weeks back when I met with my first and major accident and that too, was no mistake of mine or anybody else for that matter. What is supposed to happen cannot be stopped by any man/woman or living creature on this planet which this accident proves. But I will definitely give God his due praise for getting my out of this dreadful episode with only a scratch on my knee and maybe a little bit of torn leg muscles which are rapidly healing. His assurance that he protects his people is proved my the very existence today, besides the incident that even left my doctor surprised on how I managed escape without an broken bone or even death.

Let me give you the low down on the accident - for those that are interested, it happened at Palm Beach road, New Mumbai, just before the vashi exit. I was at a decent speed of seventy plus, when suddenly one side of the bar that holds the back-wheel gave way due to rust, which resulted in the wheel turning at an angle and jamming, added to that was the gravel on the road, which aggravated the wobbling into stunt-style skidding. First on one side then on the other and the first side again, by this time I had reached mid-way to the bridge, and the bike had considerably slowed down! Then I fell. That's when I hit my left knee on the ground with an impact and the bike fell on the back region of my knee, due to which I have still been limping around. The helmet saved me from the hit on the railing of the bridge and fortunately there was no speeding vehicle behind me, unlike all other times - especially on that road. To sum it up, my bike's quite wrecked and old, and I am planning to buy the Kawasaki Bajaj Avenger - the Cruiser bike for Indian roads, and I am still alive and blogging, so you can expect to see more posts.
